Frequently asked questions about surfing in Portrush

Learning how to surf throws up loads of questions - we have tried to anser the most common ones here................ if there is anything else you want to know about surfing please give me a bell and I will help you out as best I can, Ricky.



  • How do I book?

  • What is included in the price?

    Surf boards, bodyboards, wetsuits, all tuition and fresh water/hot chocolate and soup for colder days.

  • What should I bring?

    Towel, swimwear (for under the wetsuit) suncream on hotter days and cosy clothes when its cold:)

  • How safe is surfing?

    Surfing is a safe sport with limited risk – all lessons are in beginner level waves and each instructor is a fully qualified life guard. Three first aid kits are available at all times.

  • How old are students?

    Students have ranged from 4 years old to 72 years old, we are always keen to see records broken – its the age you are inside that counts!

  • Do I have to be a good swimmer?

    You should be able to swim 25m

  • What insurance do you have?

    We are fully insured to £3,000,000
